Privacy Policy

Overview
6 Letter Wordle is a free browser-based word game at 6letterwordle.org. We keep the site intentionally simple: no accounts, no user profiles, and no need to submit personal information to play.
This Privacy Policy explains what information may be stored or processed when you use the site.
Information We Collect
We do not ask you to create an account, enter your name, or provide an email address to play the game.
The game saves progress and statistics in your own browser using localStorage. This can include your played games, win rate, streak, guess distribution, theme preference, and current puzzle state. This information stays on your device and is not sent to us.
If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message, and any details you include about a bug report or request.
Local Storage and Cookies
The game uses browser localStorage to remember your game progress and settings. LocalStorage is stored on your device and can be cleared through your browser settings.
We do not use cookies to create user accounts, and we do not sell personal information. Our analytics implementation does not use cookies. Google AdSense and its advertising partners may use cookies, browser storage, device identifiers, or similar technologies when advertising services are active, as explained below.
Self-Hosted Analytics
We use a self-hosted instance of Umami Analytics. Your browser loads the analytics script from our analytics subdomain, a.6letterwordle.org, and sends basic usage events to that service. These events can include the page visited, referrer, browser, operating system, device type, and an approximate country or region derived from network information.
Umami does not use analytics cookies in this implementation. We use its aggregate reports to improve the site and diagnose issues, not to identify individual players or build advertising profiles. As with any web request, our hosting, security, and analytics infrastructure may process an IP address and request metadata to deliver and protect the service.
Google AdSense Advertising
Eligible game and content pages include Google AdSense code. When advertising services are active, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, browser storage, device identifiers, or similar technologies to serve, limit, measure, and improve ads. Ads may be personalized only where the law permits and the required consent has been obtained. Depending on your choices and the legal options available, Google may instead serve non-personalized or limited ads, or no ads.
Google’s use of advertising cookies can enable Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and other websites. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s advertising technologies policy.
You can manage Google ad personalization in My Ad Center. You can also opt out of some participating third-party vendors’ personalized advertising through YourAdChoices or, in participating European countries, Your Online Choices. Browser cookie controls are separate and may also be used.
Regional Consent Choices
Where consent is required, it must be obtained before advertising cookies or similar storage are used and before personal data is used for ad personalization. Google requires publishers serving AdSense ads to users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland to use a Google-certified consent management platform (CMP) integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework.
The website source does not itself deploy a CMP, so this policy should not be read as confirmation that a consent message is currently active in every region. A Google-managed consent message may be configured separately in the AdSense account. That setup must be verified before personalized advertising is enabled in a region where consent is required. If a consent message is presented, use its controls to accept, reject, or change the available advertising choices.
Third-Party Services
We use the following service providers:
- Cloudflare for site delivery, performance, and security.
- Google Fonts to load the Manrope typeface.
- Self-hosted Umami Analytics on
a.6letterwordle.orgto understand aggregate site usage. - Google AdSense and related Google advertising services on eligible pages.
Each third-party service processes data according to its own privacy policy.
How We Use Information
We use information only to:
- Run the game and remember local progress on your device.
- Improve site performance, content, and usability.
- Respond to messages you send us.
- Protect the site from abuse or technical issues.
- Support advertising if ads are enabled.
Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may share limited technical information with service providers that help host, secure, analyze, or monetize the site, only as needed for those services to operate.
Children’s Privacy
6 Letter Wordle is intended for a general audience and is not directed specifically to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the contact email, please contact us so we can delete it.
Your Choices
You can clear local game data by clearing your browser’s site data or localStorage for 6letterwordle.org.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Some advertising or site features may be affected. Because Umami does not use analytics cookies in this implementation, clearing cookies does not act as an analytics opt-out; blocking requests to a.6letterwordle.org prevents the analytics script from reporting events.
If you emailed us and want your message deleted, contact us at [email protected].
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the site changes or legal requirements evolve. The latest version will always be posted on this page with the updated date above.
