Starting-letter word lists
Starting-letter searches are useful when a puzzle has confirmed the first tile or when you want to build a Wordle guess around a known prefix. Start with the pages below, then use each page’s filters to narrow by second letter, included letters, excluded letters, and vowel count.
Six-letter words beginning with A, grouped by the second letter.
BSix-letter words beginning with B, with BA, BE, BO, and BR patterns.
CSix-letter words beginning with C, including CH, CL, CO, and CR patterns.
PSix-letter words beginning with P, grouped by second letter and letter coverage.
INSix-letter words beginning with IN, useful when the prefix is confirmed.
When to use a starting-letter list
Open one of these lists when the first tile is green or a clue supplies the beginning of the answer. On the A, B, C, and P pages, a known second letter is usually the quickest filter. The IN page is already fixed at two letters, so its useful split is the third letter: INC-, IND-, INS-, INT-, and the smaller families.
After choosing the closest list, add every confirmed-but-misplaced letter to Contains and every eliminated letter to Excludes. If the first position is still unknown, the six-letter Wordle guide is a better place to compare general guesses.
