With IN confirmed, two of the six positions are already solved. This is a compact set: the current data has only 22 six-letter words starting with IN, so the third letter and the four unknown positions matter more than a broad alphabetical sort.
All 22 words, grouped by the third letter
- INB: inborn
- INC: incite, income
- IND: indeed, indigo, indoor
- INF: inflow, inform
- INJ: inject
- INL: inland
- INS: insane, inside, insist, insole, insult
- INT: intact, intend, intent
- INU: inured
- INV: invest, invoke
- INW: inward
INS is the largest family with five entries. IND and INT have three each, INC, INF, and INV have two each, and the remaining openings occur once. If a crossword supplies the third character, this grouped list may answer the structural part of the clue before any tool setting is needed.

Filter 6 letter words starting with IN
Keep required letters, remove eliminated letters, choose a vowel or repeat condition, and order the 22 entries by letter-coverage score. Filtering happens in your browser.
Tip: click any word to copy it. Use the exclude box for gray Wordle letters, then open Unlimited Mode to test the shortlist.
Skip the second-letter step on this page
On a single-letter page, selecting the second character can remove most of the list. Here it cannot: all 22 records have N in position two. Instead, use the visible third-letter groups above and let the finder handle letters elsewhere in the word.
For example, a known third-position S points to insane, inside, insist, insole, and insult. A known third-position V leaves only invest and invoke. The finder does not need to infer that distinction; once you see the family, Contains and Excludes can test the remaining positions.
Repeats divide this small set almost in half
Ten entries use six different letters:
income, inflow, inform, inject, insole, insult, inured, invest, invoke, inward
The other 12 repeat at least one character:
inborn, incite, indeed, indigo, indoor, inland, insane, inside, insist, intact, intend, intent
This division is more consequential here than on a much larger letter list. Requiring no repeats removes over half of the file, while requiring a repeat removes all ten unique-letter options. Use that control only when tile counts or crossings provide evidence.
Vowels and endings in the IN set
Every record has either two or three A/E/I/O/U vowels: 12 have two and 10 have three. There are no one-vowel or four-vowel entries in this file. The three-vowel group is incite, income, indeed, indigo, indoor, insane, inside, insole, inured, and invoke.
The endings are concentrated too. Six entries end in E, six end in T, and five end in D; the other five end in M, N, O, R, or W. A confirmed last tile therefore narrows the 22 words quickly:
- Final E: incite, income, insane, inside, insole, invoke
- Final T: inject, insist, insult, intact, intent, invest
- Final D: indeed, inland, intend, inured, inward
The five remaining endings occur once each: inform ends in M, inborn in N, indigo in O, indoor in R, and inflow in W.
A four-result filter example
Suppose IN is green, D, S, and T are gray, and the board shows no duplicate. Put DST in Excludes and choose no repeated letters. The current file leaves income, inflow, inform, and invoke. A known final E would reduce that set to income and invoke; a known third letter F would reduce it to inflow and inform.
The coverage score can order the remaining words by their letter-testing value, but it does not say which entry is an official answer or assign answer odds.
Use the list with different clue types
For Wordle-style feedback, keep IN fixed, enter yellow letters under Contains, and add every truly gray character to Excludes. If you have evidence for a duplicate, turn on the repeat condition; otherwise compare the ten unique-letter candidates first when your goal is to reveal more letters.
For crosswords, use the definition before the list. Income, inside, and insole share the IN opening and final E, but they answer different clues. The finder enforces letter constraints; it cannot replace the clue’s meaning.

If only I is confirmed, return to the starting-letter hub rather than forcing the IN pattern. Compare A-starting words or P-starting words when the first tile changes. If E is confirmed at the end, open the E-ending list, or test a candidate in Unlimited 6 Letter Wordle.
Frequently asked questions
How many entries are on this page?
There are 22 in the current JSON. Because the set is small, all 22 are grouped by their third letter near the top of the page.
Why does the second-letter filter not narrow the list?
The page pattern is already IN, so N is fixed in position two for every entry. The third letter, required or excluded letters, vowel count, and repeats provide the useful splits.
Which IN words have six different letters?
Income, inflow, inform, inject, insole, insult, inured, invest, invoke, and inward. The remaining 12 entries repeat at least one character.
Is the coverage score an answer forecast?
No. It is a site-defined letter-coverage heuristic, not an official answer list or probability model.
